The sun is up

While it's cold back in England where I live, it's 26C here in Tenerife. Because of the blue skies and volcanic beaches, there are some amazing photo's to take here everyday. After just napping by the pool side yesterday, yesterday I got my camera out and kept it with me where ever I went. Because I was traveling with a group of friends for all of the day, I could not go off and try find a perfect photograph... although some turned out okay. Here's some by the poolside, some by the sea:

Under the Sea...

For anyone who knows me as a photographer and person, they know I love marine life. This has inspired me to look into underwater photography, which I hope to pursue in the future. Here's some I photographed in an aquarium a while ago.

A Wilday Winter

Chester is so beautiful in the Winter. Wether It comes to frozen lakes or frosted trees, this city definitely takes advantage of toe numbing weather! Here are eight of the images I took to capture this time of year.

iPhone Advertisements

To test our skills of creativity, our task at college was to advertise the iPhone in new and unique ways - a studio picture and one shot on location. By brainstorming and testing different ideas, I managed to take some pictures that I really liked for the idea and the way the final image looked. These are the three final images I created.

Scan, scan, and scan again!

The type of scanning I have done here is using objects. I have used them in different ways, placing them flat and seeing the outcome, and also moving them around to create a wave of light. What I most enjoyed about these scans is manipulating them in Photoshop, and turning them into unique and quite interesting scans. Here are a few that I have done recently, some manipulated some not.

Film Photography

Although I have shot film before, this college assignment allowed us to process our own film and enlarge them onto photographic paper. I found this really interesting, as not only is shooting on film much different from digital (there's no way to see your pictures instantly) but creating my own pictures in the dark room made the photography very personal. Here are a couple of pictures I shot and scanned into the computer.

Salford

Through many years I have been passionate about photography and the images I saw as a child. As I have no skill what so ever in drawing, painting or sculpture, I needed to find a way to let out my creativity. As soon as I found photography, I knew it was what I wanted to do, to earn a living doing something I love. After taking numerous images and realising most have been lost, I realised a blog is the perfect way to capture what I shoot and to share it with other like minded people.

SInce becoming  a photography student, I have started to take more and more images, and seeing them get better and better. This is a way for me to take pride in the photographs I take and have them recorded for years on end.

For a while now I have thought about what type of photography interests me the most, and what types I want to focus on; over the last few months, I have become passionate and focused on wedding photography and underwater photography. Although very opposite fields, both appeal to me and I hope to take more and more photos not only capturing someones special day, but diving underwater and taking images of what I can find.

For now, the images that will be posted over the next few months will be what college assignments I do and many other images I take and experiment with.

Using a range of different techniques, I managed to shoot a number of different dramatic images during a college trip to Salford.
